TENSE phase protection relay - adjustable asymmetry 5-50%
The phase protection relay from TENSE (Turkey) is designed to protect three-phase electric motors and other three-phase equipment from electrical network faults. The device checks correct phase sequence, phase asymmetry, undervoltage, and overvoltage, and ensures safe load disconnection when set limits are exceeded.
Due to its wide range of settings, the relay is suitable for most industrial and commercial applications, especially where precise and stable motor protection is required.
Key features
-
Phase sequence monitoring - protection against incorrect wiring.
-
Adjustable asymmetry: from 5% to 50%.
-
Adjustable undervoltage: 260-360 V AC.
-
Adjustable overvoltage: 400-480 V AC.
-
Adjustable fault delay time (Err In): 1-30 s.
-
Adjustable recovery time (Err OUT): 1-30 s.
-
Clear display on a 3 × 3-segment screen.
-
High accuracy and fast response to network faults.
-
Mounting on a standard DIN rail.
Operating principles
Normal operation
When all phase voltages are within limits and the phase sequence is correct:
-
The relay is triggered,
-
The OUT LED lights up.
High voltage error (H)
-
If the phase exceeds the set limit → wait for the Err In time, H. appears
-
The relay switches off, OUT indicator goes off.
-
When 5 V falls below the set value, Err OUT activates, the relay switches on again.
Low voltage error (L)
-
Drop below set limit → Err In wait, L. is displayed.
-
The relay switches off.
-
When voltage rises 5 V above the limit → Err OUT wait, the relay switches on.
Phase asymmetry (Asy)
-
If the voltage difference between phases exceeds the set limit (5-50 %):
-
ASy appears after Err In time, the relay deactivates.
-
-
When asymmetry decreases below (set threshold - 2 %) → Err OUT wait time, the relay switches on.
Phase sequence error (pHs)
-
When a phase sequence error occurs, the relay waits for Err In, then displays pHs.
-
The relay switches off and remains off until the correct sequence is restored.
-
When the phase sequence is corrected, Err OUT appears and the relay switches on.
