Steatite (artificial porcelain): used for the production of insulating parts with greater electrical and mechanical strength than conventional porcelain materials.
Advantages compared to ceramics:
- Greater mechanical strength,
- greater dimensional stability,
- higher temperature resistance (1000 °C or more)
- greater resistance to acids,
- longer lifespan,
